Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental - Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. (CLFI) and Area 501 were warmly welcomed by Cagayan De Oro City Central School during the launch of the 42nd DepEd-Cebuana Lhuillier ALS Community Learning Center (CLC) last September 22, 2016.

Assistant School Principal Paul Badon stressed the importance of non-government organizations (NGOs) as partners in making the ALS program a success. “DepEd cannot solve its problems on lack of school facilities alone and we need partnerships with NGOs to address these problems,” he said.

Kristina Muñiz, Program Department Manager of CLFI, told the learners and guests that Cebuana Lhuillier treats its partners as friends, hence the company’s tagline “Kaibigan, Ka-Cebuana.”

Also present in the event were the Area 501 team with Area Manager Marvin Mangalos and DepEd Cagayan de Oro officials.

In a Memorandum of Agreement signed in 2013, DepEd agreed to provide the “engines” or the teachers while Cebuana Lhuillier, through CLFI, will provide the “fuel” or the Php125,000 budget for  teaching equipment and learning modules for ALS Community Learning Centers nationwide.
